I’m not just talking about a human, mind you, the Three Kingdoms AI would also easily recognize that. A human would recognize the artillery and ranged advantage, spread their forces into a three-pronged attack, and attack in waves, so I won’t have the ammo to actually kill them all. I’d deploy that way against a player too, it’s just an advantageous position, and it’s not an obviously unintended mechanic like other siege cheese (such as corner camping with artillery). You could argue that I am cheesing the AI by deploying like that, but I don’t agree. If I leave one of the entrances uncovered, only then does the AI split up its force. When I do that, if I commit units to defending all entrances to the centre, the AI fucks up and bulrushes the closest entrance with all units. Therefore I start deployed on the second and third layer of battlements to get maximum protection and uptime for my Crossbowmen and Mortars. They do fine climbing the walls, but I also know that state troops lose the fight against frenzied Savage Orcs on the walls. Think we missed one?
